According to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Yaites ranks as the No. 250 overall prospect, No. 19 safety in the nation and No. 44 prospect in the Lone Star State.

On3 director of scouting Charles Power weighed in on Ryan Yaites committing to LSU and what he’ll bring to Matt House’s defense.
“Ryan Yaites is a battle-tested defensive back with positional versatility,” Power said when Yaites made his pledge. “Yaites faces top receivers while playing in Texas’ largest class. He’s technically refined and a smooth mover. We see him do a nice job tracking the ball while in downfield coverage. Yaites is well-schooled playing in Denton Guyer’s loaded secondary. He mainly plays corner, but I could see him lining up at a number of spots for LSU- including safety, potentially.”
