On Tuesday, LSU will host 2026 four-star Augusta (Ga.) Cedar Grove wide receiver Devin Carter for an unofficial visit. The former Florida State pledge is busy with visits over the course of the spring.

“I was at LSU last spring and I like what they are doing. I really like (co-offensive coordinator/wide receivers) coach (Cortez) Hankton and (head) coach (Brian) Kelly,” Carter told On3. “Me and Coach Hankton communicate a lot and we are on the phone almost every day with each other. We have a good relationship with each other, LSU puts receivers into the NFL and they just keep doing it over there.”

Carter added that he’s also taking the trips to the following schools: Georgia March 26, Alabama March 28, Central Florida March 29, Miami March 30, Florida State April 1, Texas A&M April 3, Texas April 4, Oklahoma April 5, Notre Dame April 6 and Ohio State April 8. Auburn leads the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.

“It is about relationships for me now,” said Carter, the No. 30 overall prospect in the 2026 On3 Industry Ranking. “What also matters is what schools put receivers in the NFL because I want to play in the NFL. It is not about the transfer portal for me. It is about a school that develops players for four years and puts guys into the league.”

Carter ranks as the nation’s No. 22 overall player and No. 3 wide receiver in the land according to the 2026 On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 6 player from the state of Georgia.

According to On3’s own rankings, Carter checks in as the No. 38 recruit and No. 5 wide receiver nationally, plus the No. 6 prospect from the Peach State.

“The thing about me is that I’m an all-around player,” Carter said. “I know how to run every route and I do it great and consistently. I feel like I’m a good deep ball threat and I’m a good route runner also. I’m a deep threat that can score on any deep ball you throw me.”

Moving forward, Carter is looking to improve his “fast-twitch” and get more explosive. He’s looking for a wide receiver coach that can develop him into a pro.

“I’m just looking for a receiver coach that develops receivers, puts all their talent on tape, and sends people to the NFL Combine to show out,” he said. “I want to be one of those people and hopefully be a first-round pick.”

His father, Dexter, played in the NFL as a running back for the San Fransisco 49ers (1990-94, 96-96) and the New York Jets (1995). He was with the 49ers when they won Super Bowl XXIX.
