State commit Kamario Taylor moves up in latest On3 Top 300 rankings for Class of 2025

On3 released its Top 300 rankings for the Class of 2025 on Monday morning and once again it featured numerous Magnolia State products, including Mississippi State commitment Kamario Taylor who made a big jump in Monday’s new rankings.

The 6-foot-3 and 200-pound Taylor committed to Mississippi State last year and debuted as a four-star prospect by On3 in his initial ranking. On Monday, the Noxubee County High School standout went from No. 263 overall to No. 119 and also owns a 91 rating now per On3.

As a junior, Taylor helped lead Noxubee County to its second straight Class 3A state championship game appearance. In that season Taylor completed 210 of 351 passes for 3,594 yards with 43 touchdowns and just five interceptions. Taylor also rushed for 794 yards and 15 touchdowns last season.

From the instate ranks, a total of four players are inside the Top 55 in the latest Top 300 rankings. Leading the way is Choctaw County High School receiver Caleb Cunningham at No. 20 followed by Laurel High School offensive tackle Tyler Miller at No. 32. Also in the Top 40 is Quitman High School running back Akylin Dear at No. 37 while George County High School quarterback and Notre Dame commit Deuce Knight checks in at No. 54.

Making his debut in the Top 300 is Winona High School linebacker Tyler Lockhart at No. 173. Lockhart has picked up recent SEC offers from LSU, Alabama and Georgia to go along with previous SEC offers from Mississippi State and Vanderbilt.

Other instate players in the On3 Top 300 include Oak Grove defensive lineman Andrew Maddox at No. 186 and Lake Cormorant High School linebacker Jarcoby Hopson at No. 218. Also of note, Hartfield Academy defensive lineman Reginald Vaughn, Madison Central High School tight end Micah Jones and Hattiesburg High School defensive lineman Kevin Oatis dropped out of the Top 300 along with another Mississippi State target in Williamson (Ala.) High School offensive lineman Carde Smith.
