Villanova CB Devon Marshall commits to NC State
NC State’s secondary took a hit early in the week, but the Wolfpack received a New Year’s gift by Thursday evening. Villanova cornerback Devon Marshall committed to the red and white, bolstering the team’s depleted cornerback room.
The Boston native made 47 total tackles with 3.5 tackles for a loss with 11 pass breakups this season. Marshall had three passes defended in the Week 2 matchup against Colgate and a pair in the Wildcats’ meeting at UCF — where he had a season-best nine tackles.
Marshall played 725 total snaps this season with Villanova, and 558 came at outside cornerback. He was targeted 57 times this season at the FCS level and allowed 27 receptions for 266 yards. Marshall did not allow a touchdown and only gave up more than nine yards after the catch in a game twice (Week 4 and Week 5).

Marshall has two years of eligibility remaining. He was the second portal player to commit to the Wolfpack Thursday, joining former five-star wide receiver Noah Rogers, who announced earlier in the afternoon.
