The NC State basketball recruiting class for 2024 already includes On3 Industry four-star wing Paul McNeil Jr. from Rockingham (N.C.) Richmond Senior. The Pack would love to pair McNeil with On3 Industry four-star guard Jaeden Mustaf from Matthews (N.C.) Carmel Christian.

NC State had previously made Mustaf’s top five along with Florida State, Indiana, Miami and Virginia Tech.

Now, Mustaf is beginning to prepare some visits.

Mustaf told On3’s Joe Tipton that he will take an unofficial visit to NC State on June 4, and then he will use an official visit at Indiana June 8-10.

Mustaf previously visited NC State on April 16. In addition, Wolfpack head coach Kevin Keatts made it a priority to see Mustaf during the open evaluation period.

The Bowie, Md., native played at Carmel Christian near Charlotte and averaged 15.9 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game this past season.

Mustaf (6-foot-5, 205 pounds) is rated the No. 42 prospect nationally among rising seniors by the On3 Industry Rankings. He is also listed as the No. 3 combo guard in the country in that 2024 class and the No. 5 prospect from a loaded group of in-state players in North Carolina.

The On3 Industry Rankings has McNeil ranked the No. 33 player in the country. McNeil is also No. 4 in the state and the No. 9 shooting guard in the country.

Jaeden Mustaf breaks down his top 5 schools

In a prior story with Tipton breaking down his top 5 schools, Mustaf shared what he liked about each of his finalists:

Florida State: “The only school on this list that I have officially visited. Amazing atmosphere, love the coaching staff and they showed myself and my family a lot of love during the visit. They love big guards and that is what I am.”

Indiana: “I think I would fit right in there. Great basketball fans and blue blood school. Great relationship with coaches, they keep in contact with me a lot and I could really see myself being successful there.”

Miami: “Their play style is kind of like NC State with the way they let their guards play. Great coaching staff, and obviously they win. Another place I think I would really fit in.”

NC State: “My new hometown. Another school I have great relationships with. I love their play style and I think they would really help me reach my full potential.”

Virginia Tech: “Great relationship with the coaches. One of the first schools to contact me. Great environment and a great place for me to grow.”
