NC State men’s basketball holds two commitments in the 2024 class from a pair of four-star prospects. Trey Parker, a guard for Atlanta (Ga.) Overtime Elite, committed to the Pack in 2022 and is one of the most explosive players in the country.

On3’s Jamie Shaw selected 10 athletes nationwide and recognized the 6-1 Wolfpack commit as one of the five most explosive players in the 2024 class. Parker is 1 of 3 guards to make the top 10.

“Just go on Youtube and type in Trey Parker Dunk Contest,” Shaw wrote. “You can click on any link that pops up, they will all be the same. He is an acrobat in the air, and he uses his long arms and springy bounce to get high above the rim. While Parker is most known for his dunking, he is more than just that. He is a smooth jump shooter with deep range, and he also has nice vision out of the pick-and-roll. That said, go on Youtube and watch a couple of highlights.”

Parker was originally a member of the 2023 class and signed with the Wolfpack but opted to reclassify and spend one more year with Overtime Elite. He is still committed to NC State. The On3 Industry Ranking considers Parker, who is from Fayetteville, North Carolina, the No. 80 recruit in the country, the No. 4 combo guard and the No. 9 recruit in Georgia.

NC State quote of the day

This quote is from four-star class of 2025 defensive lineman Isaiah Campbell, explaining why academics will play a significant role in his college decision.

“I want to play football but, also, football is a means to an end,” Campbell said. “Football is going to end, and you need a game plan, how you’re going to prepare for life. Football is a good, I would say, stepping stone for life.”
