NC State wide receiver Christopher Scott enters transfer portal
NC State redshirt sophomore wide receiver Christopher Scott Jr. entered the transfer portal Monday afternoon, according to On3’s transfer portal tracker. He appeared in three games this fall, all on special teams.
Scott is the fifth NC State wide receiver to announce his intention of entering the transfer portal this offseason. He joined Anthony Smith, Porter Rooks, Terrell Timmons Jr. and Josh Crabtree from that position group to look for a new program to join for next season.
Scott began his career at NC State as a cornerback, but he soon transitioned to wide receiver. He played 10 snaps at wide receiver in his freshman year, as well as two games on special teams in the 2020 season.
He missed the 2021 season due to injury, and returned to action in 2022. He played in three games that season, mostly on special teams. He did play eight snaps on defense last fall, seven of which came at cornerback with one lined up inside the box.
Scott’s three appearances this season came against the Virginia Military Institute, at Virginia and at home against Louisville, all on punt units for the Wolfpack.
