Texas State LB commit Ke’Von Carter flips to NC State

Even though the early signing window has passed, that doesn’t mean flip season is over. NC State proved that as Texas State linebacker commit Ke’Von Carter decided to change his mind and picked the Wolfpack.
Carter, a three-star recruit from San Antonio (TX) Karen Wagner High, picked up an offer from the Pack on Dec. 12. Less than a month later, he decided to flip his commitment and joined NC State’s 2025 recruiting class on Friday night.
NC State assistant linebackers coach Isaiah Moore was the one to offer Carter in December before the Wolfpack hired defensive coordinator D.J. Eliot, a coach with a deep recruiting acumen in Texas.
Carter, the No. 112 linebacker in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, logged 63 total tackles, including 11 for a loss, with two sacks, 10 quarterback hurries, three passes defended, two fumble recoveries and a forced fumble during his senior season. He turned in 44 total tackles, including four for a loss, with an interception, six passes defended and a forced fumble as a junior.

NC State appeared to be the only new program to enter his recruitment after he committed to the Bobcats in June. Carter also held offers from Houston, Stephen F. Austin, Sam Houston State and Houston Christian, among others.
Carter is the Wolfpack’s second high school linebacker in the recruiting cycle, joining three-star Terris Dudley, who NC State flipped from Toledo during the early signing period.
