NC State has been active in the transfer portal, and it has the No. 7 class in the On3 Transfer Portal Team Rankings, but it also lost players due to it as well. Here’s a look at where NC State’s departures ended up ahead of the spring semester.

Quarterback

MJ Morris: Maryland — The sophomore signal-caller entered the transfer portal after he elected to redshirt this season seven games into the campaign. He was 63-of-113 passing for 719 yards with seven touchdowns and five interceptions in his four starts with the Wolfpack this fall.

Running back

Michael Allen: UNLV — The sophomore had a similar impact to the Wolfpack offense in both of his seasons in Raleigh. He recorded 53 carries for 268 yards in 2022 before he logged 52 attempts for 251 yards and a touchdown this fall. He also logged 11 receptions for 66 yards this past season.

Delbert Mimms: Eastern Michigan — Mimms spent four seasons in Raleigh before opting to enter the portal. He had his best season with the Wolfpack this fall as he logged 96 carries for 282 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground, while he added three receptions for 23 yards. Mimms completed his NC State career with 129 attempts for 442 yards and eight rushing touchdowns.

Jordan Houston: Marshall — Houston decided to redshirt the rest of the season after the first three games. He logged 25 carries for 96 yards this fall before he elected to sit out the remainder of the campaign to preserve his final year of eligibility. Houston spent five seasons with the Wolfpack and he recorded 324 carries for 1,392 yards and six touchdowns.

Wide receiver

Josh Crabtree: Murray State — Crabtree spent four seasons at NC State, primarily on special teams and the offensive scout team. He was the co-recipient of the Pack’s Offensive Scout Team Player of the Year award in 2022. Crabtree played 105 snaps this season, all on special teams, for the Wolfpack.

Porter Rooks: Eastern Michigan — Rooks logged 79 receptions for 891 yards and a touchdown in four seasons with the Pack. Rooks recorded 13 catches for 166 yards, an average of 12.8 yards per reception this fall with the red and white.

Anthony Smith: East Carolina — The speedy wide receiver spent four seasons at NC State, but could not quite crack the wide receiver rotation on a consistent basis. He logged 13 receptions for 243 yards and three touchdowns in his time with the Wolfpack. Smith logged two receptions for 19 yards this past season.

Chris Scott: Austin Peay — Scott moved back and forth between cornerback and wide receiver in his time at NC State. He was primarily a special teams player, and he logged four total snaps in three games this season.

Terrell Timmons Jr.: Colorado — The sophomore played rotational snaps this fall with the Pack. He logged 11 receptions for 195 yards, an average of 17.7 yards per catch. It was an improvement from his three receptions for 79 yards and a touchdown during his freshman season.

Tight end

Cedd Seabrough: West Georgia — Seabrough played in 24 games during his two seasons on the field with the Wolfpack. He logged nine receptions for 56 yards and a touchdown in his time in Raleigh.

Fred Seabrough: uncommitted — Seabrough was primarily a special teams player for the Wolfpack. He played 60 snaps, almost all on field goal and extra point coverage, this fall with the red and white.

Christopher Toudle: Western Michigan — Toudle’s offensive involvement dropped this season. After he logged 30 receptions for 320 yards and five scores through his first two years in Raleigh, Toudle did not record a catch this season in offensive coordinator Robert Anae’s system.

Offensive line

Lyndon Cooper: Pittsburgh — Cooper emerged into the Wolfpack’s starting group at center when Dylan McMahon went down with an injury. He played three games there before going back to left guard. After Cooper had three penalties at left guard at Duke in Week 7, he only played seven offensive snaps on the offensive line the rest of the season.

Jaleel Davis: Florida International — Davis played three snaps in his three seasons at NC State. He did not appear in a game this fall.

Defensive line

C.J. Clark: Miami — Clark was the Wolfpack’s starting nose tackle this fall. He logged 22 tackles with one sack for the red and white before he entered the transfer portal. During his five seasons in Raleigh, Clark recorded 73 total tackles with four sacks.

Linebacker

Daejuan Thompson: uncommitted — Thompson played just nine snaps on kick coverage, all in one game, this fall. He never played a snap on defense in his time with the Wolfpack.

Torren Wright: Temple — Wright played 43 snaps this fall, all on special teams. It was an increase from the one special teams snap he played in 2022, but he opted to transfer to Temple after the season.

Defensive backs

Darius Edmundson: UNC Pembroke — Edmundson played 55 snaps before he decided to enter the transfer portal during the season. He was primarily on special teams this fall with 50 of his snaps coming on kick coverage, punt coverage and punt return.

Nate Evans: Delaware — Evans did not play in a game this season after he played 19 last fall, 14 of which came at cornerback.

Jakeen Harris: North Carolina — Harris suffered a season-ending injury in the Wolfpack’s season opener at UConn. He finished his NC State career with 166 tackles, 11 passes defended and four interceptions.

Cecil Powell: Troy — Powell was a rotational safety for the Wolfpack this season as the position got depleted through injuries at times. He made five tackles this season. Powell logged 70 total tackles with four passes defended and a forced fumble in his three seasons on the field with NC State.
