Nebraska has added offensive tackle Preston Taumua from Waipahu (Hawaii) to the 2024 recruiting class. The Huskers edged out Auburn, Oregon, Arizona, USC, Alabama, and others for his services. Taumua becomes the 24th known commitment in the 2024 class and is the fourth offensive lineman. Taumua took an official visit to Nebraska on June 19th.

The Nebraska class continues to expand and nails down one of the most significant needs. The Huskers have been in on several offensive tackles but have yet to add any to the class. Taumua, a four-star offensive lineman according to On3, is projected to play the tackle position.

Taumua is rated as an IOL, but if you watch his junior film, he moved around on the offensive line a lot. What will be interesting is where he will play his senior season. Taumua recently transferred from Aiea to Waipahu for his senior year.

There is a lot for Nebraska fans to get excited about with Taumua’s commitment. The 6-foot-4 and 317-pound Taumua has excellent athleticism, including some quick feet. He claims that he runs a 5.5-second 40-yard dash.

The Huskers add Taumua to the 2024 class, which already has three offensive linemen. Taumua joins Gibson Pyle from Klein (Texas) Cain, Jake Peters from Cedar Falls (Iowa), and Landen Davidson from Broomfield (Colo.). Pyle, Peters, and Davidson have all stated that Nebraska likes them on the interior of the offensive line.

The Nebraska class has reached 24 total commitments, and there are still possibilities for the Huskers to add more names to the list. There is still a presumed need for another offensive tackle, a pass rusher, and possibly another defensive back.
