The Notre Dame football program will host New Jersey’s top cornerback on an official visit come June. Four-star junior recruit Jahmir Joseph announced on social media Monday that he will check out the Fighting Irish on an official visit from June 7-9.

It will be the 6-foot, 170-pounder from Montvale (N.J.) St. Joseph Regional’s first trip to South Bend.

Joseph is the No. 167 overall player, No. 23 cornerback and No. 5 prospect in New Jersey in 2025, per the On3 Industry Ranking, a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services.

Notre Dame cornerbacks coach Mike Mickens offered the On3 Industry Ranking’s top defensive back in The Garden State on Pot of Gold Day. About 65 recruits announced offers from the Fighting Irish during their St. Patrick’s Day-themed recruiting event. Mickens offered seven other cornerbacks on March 17.

Besides Notre Dame, Joseph has 25 other “Core Four” (ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, SEC) offers. Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State, Stanford and Southern California are among the programs that have offered Joseph a scholarship.

So far, he has only reported four previous college recruiting visits — three to Penn State and one to Boston College. He has an official visit set to Stanford on May 30.

Notre Dame has continued to express interest in Joseph since last spring. Coaches from the program have visited his school twice since April, including as recently as Jan. 18.

The Irish currently hold one cornerback in the 2025 cycle in Phoenix Brophy College Prep’s Cree Thomas. The 6-1, 170-pound Thomas is a four-star and the On3 Industry Ranking’s No. 35 cornerback nationally and No. 2 prospect in Arizona.

In addition to Joseph, Notre Dame will also host four-star cornerbacks Mark Zackery and Chuck McDonald on unofficial visits the weekend of March 23. Zackery and McDonald are the On3 Industry Ranking’s No. 9 and 16 cornerbacks, respectively, in the 2025 cycle.

As of now, the Irish have one commit from New Jersey in Wayne (N.J.) DePaul Catholic wide receiver Elijah Burress. The 6-foot, 170-pound Burress pledged to Notre Dame on Feb 10, three weeks after visiting campus for the first time. Burress is the On3 Industry Ranking’s No. 83 wide receiver in the country and the No. 15 recruit in New Jersey.

Burress is the son of former NFL wide receiver Plaxico Burress.
