Newsstand: Where Notre Dame commit Deuce Knight stands in quarterback rankings
Both On3 and Rivals updated their 2025 rankings this week, and Notre Dame quarterback commit Deuce Knight remains one of the top players at his position, as well as a top-100 recruit nationally per two of the four major recruiting websites.
According to On3’s rankings, he took the smallest of slides in the quarterback rankings, moving from No. 5 to No. 6. In the national rankings, he moved from No. 29 to No. 54. He retained his 94 rating.
“Knight is the best athlete among the top quarterbacks in the 2025 cycle,” wrote On3 director of scouting and rankings Charles Power this week. “The 6-foot-4½, 200-pounder’s athleticism would register on the high end for receiver prospects, let alone quarterbacks. With a strong arm to go with the elite athleticism, the lefty has all the physical tools to be a top talent at the position.
“Knight will need to continue improving his accuracy and pocket presence to approach his considerable ceiling. The Lucedale (Miss.) Greene County standout began his junior season at Nashville (Tenn.) Lipscomb Academy before transferring back home to Mississippi mid-season.”
In the new Rivals rankings, Knight moved down 18 spots to No. 52 overall. His positional ranking as the top dual-threat quarterback in the country remained unchanged.
Both Rivals and ESPN still break up their quarterback rankings, splitting them up by dual-threat and pro-style. Per ESPN, Knight is the No. 123 prospect and No. 2 dual-threat passer in America.
247 Sports currently ranks Knight the lowest as the No. 140 overall player and No. 8 quarterback nationally.
According to the 2025 On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting services — Knight is the No. 55 overall prospect and No. 5 quarterback in America. He remains the highest-ranked commit of the class.
