On Sunday, March 11, the 2024 Under Armour Next Football Camp Series continued at Arlington Martin High School in Dallas, where some of the region’s best high school football players had the opportunity to hone their on-field skills.

Each player took part in a series of optional athletic measurement stations, then competed in individual and head-to-head drills against other top athletes at their respective positions.

At the completion of the camp, several players were recognized following their performances, which included Notre Dame running back commit Daniel Anderson.

The Bryant (Ark.) High talent was one of two running back MVPs for the camp. The other was Michael Turner, a four-star back out of North Richland Hills (Texas).

Anderson ranks as the nation’s No. 593 overall recruit and No. 53 running back according to the 2025 On3 Industry Ranking.

He is one of two running back commits for the Irish along with Tampa (Fla.) Jesuit’s Justin Thurman. The Irish have 17 commitments in the class, a group that ranks No. 5 according to the 2025 Industry Ranking Football Team Recruiting Rankings.

The Notre Dame staff invited Anderson to participate in their Irish Invasion camp in early May 2023, and at that point, he held zero scholarship offers. He earned an offer from the Irish after showing out at their camp the following month, and the likes of Arkansas State, Colorado, Mississippi State and Tennessee offered him in the ensuing weeks.

Anderson was on campus last September for the Ohio State game and gave the Notre Dame coaches some indication before the trip that a commitment would take place. He announced his decision to pick the Irish a little over an hour before kickoff.

Quote of the day

“It’s so incredible to be in this moment and to say we’re ACC champs when this league is so tough and it was such a hard fought week, three games in a row, the resilience of our team, the adversity we faced, and for everyone to step up was fantastic, and I’m so proud of them and so grateful to be their coach.”
