Notre Dame football landed its 14th verbal commitment in the 2025 recruiting cycle on Thursday when Waukesha (Wis.) Catholic Memorial offensive tackle Owen Strebig revealed his pledge to the Fighting Irish. The four-star chose Notre Dame over Wisconsin, Miami, Southern California, Florida State and 21 other programs.

Strebig is the No. 125 overall player, No. 12 offensive tackle nationally and No. 1 prospect in Wisconsin in the 2025 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services.

In On3’s own rankings, the 6-foot-7, 285-pounder is the No. 111 player in the class, No. 11 offensive tackle and No. 2 recruit in Wisconsin. Both On3 and the On3 Industry Ranking consider Strebig the top offensive line recruit in America’s Dairyland.

Before Strebig’s pending December signature, the only player the Irish have signed from the Badger State in the internet recruiting era (which began in 2002) was Fond Du Lac (Wis.) St. Mary’s Springs offensive lineman Billy Schrauth.

Schrauth was the No. 127 overall player, No. 9 interior offensive lineman and No. 2 prospect in Wisconsin in the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking.

Strebig is fresh off a junior season in which he earned a spot on the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association (WFCA) Large School All-State Team for the first time. They also honored him with a spot on their All-Region (3-Large) Team. Catholic Memorial concluded the season 9-3 with a loss in the Division 4 semifinals.

Here is how social media reacted to Strebig’s Notre Dame football commitment.
