COLUMBUS — Four-star Cocoa (Fla.) wide receiver Jayvan Boggs has decommitted from the Buckeyes.

The 5-foot-11, 190-pound wide receiver chose Ohio State over a number of programs including Florida, UCF, USF, Penn State and more. Now he’s reopening his recruitment after being committed to the Buckeyes since early October.

Nearly six months later, though, he is opening things back up — with the Florida Gators emerging as a potential landing spot for the now-former Buckeyes commit.

On3’s Florida site, Gators Online, recently listed Boggs as one of Florida’s five most realistic flip targets.

He told Corey Bender from Gators Online that he was expecting to take visits this spring.

“It’s been going good,” Boggs told Gators Online at the UA All-America Camp on Sunday. “I’m still locked in with them very good, but other schools are trying to come in and push, like Florida, Georgia and Notre Dame. A lot of schools hit me up and trying to get me there.”

That’s a stark contrast in what Boggs said about shutting down his recruitment early in the process when he committed to Ohio State. At that time, he seemed to be all-in with the Buckeyes.

“What really made me commit was the relationships I created with Coach Ryan Day, Coach Brian Hartline and coach Devin Jordan,” Boggs told On3’s Hayes Fawcett when he committed to the Buckeyes. “When I went up there it felt like a second home to me honestly! I feel coach Hartline can help me get to where I wanna be at the next level and be a first-round pick like Jaxon Smith-NjigbaChris Olave and many more.

“Coach Hartline really made it known that I’m a top priority for them and that he wants me to be their first 2025 wide receiver commit. There’s no better opportunity than to join WRU and to keep the tradition going!”

But after nearly six months of being pledged to Hartline and the Buckeyes, Jayvan Boggs is reopening his recruitment and starting over. He has decommitted from Ohio State.
