COLUMBUS — Ohio State continues to build its 2024 class from within the state and on Saturday two more prospects made the move: Deontae and Devontae Armstrong have committed to the Buckeyes.

The four-star Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward offensive tackles visited Ohio State earlier in the day and chose the Buckeyes over a number of schools including Michigan, Georgia and Penn State.

Both of the in-state prospects announced their decisions on Twitter shortly after their visit ended.

Deontae Armstrong is the No. 19 offensive tackle, No. 194 overall prospect and the No. 7 prospect in Ohio according to On3.

Devontae Armstrong is the No. 25 offensive tackle, No. 247 overall prospect and the No. 9 prospect in Ohio according to On3.

Deontae is a projected tackle at the next level, while Devontae looks to be more interior based.

They haven’t had their Ohio State offers for too long — only since the end of January — but the Buckeyes’ offer is the one they both have championed since their recruitments took off.

“This one certainly means a little more than some, being from the state of Ohio, and growing up an Ohio State fan just makes this offer feel a lot better,” Deontae Armstrong told Lettermen Row. “It just felt different to get offered by a school that you watched on TV since you were a little kid.”

Ohio State offensive line coach Justin Frye was thorough in his analysis and evaluation of the twins, but it worked out. He now has four linemen off the board and in the 2024 class.

Four-star New Palestine (Ind) interior offensive lineman Ian Moore and three-star Toledo (Ohio) Central Catholic interior offensive lineman Marc Nave are both in the class.

Moore committed in October while Nave committed earlier this March.

Five-star Hollywood (Fla) Chaminade-Madonna Prep wide receiver Jeremiah Smith rounds out the offensive side of the ball so far in the class.

The Buckeyes have one defensive commit for now with four-star Sunbury (Ohio) Big Walnut linebacker Garrett Stover.

Ohio State is still looking for two more offensive linemen in its 2024 class. For now, however, the Buckeyes landed two and they didn’t have to go far.
