COLUMBUS — Ohio State ended October in spectacular fashion.

The Buckeyes won a massive road game against Penn State behind an impressive performance by defensive end J.T. Tuimoloau. The second-year defensive end provided a stat line never seen before and he will only continue to impress.

Ohio State also won a contested battle on the recruiting trail on Halloween night. Four-star Suwanee (Ga) North Gwinnett defensive lineman Kayden McDonald announced his commitment to the Buckeyes on Monday.

The No. 299 overall prospect according to the On3 Consensus Rankings was between Clemson, Florida, Michigan and Oklahoma, but ultimately chose the Buckeyes.

With his pledge, Ohio State now has 21 members in its 2023 class which ranks third nationally.

Lettermen Row staffers Matt Parker and Spencer Holbrook stepped back into the Lettermen Lounge and discussed what Kayden McDonald’s commitment means both in the short term and the long term.

McDonald only visited Ohio State twice during his recruitment process, but one of them was for an official visit. That visit, while important, was reciprocated by perhaps an even more important visit by Ohio State coach Ryan Day and defensive line coach Larry Johnson. The duo visited McDonald during the Buckeyes’ bye-week and reemphasized how much of a priority he is to the Buckeyes.

So hop on into the Lettermen Lounge where the staff breaks down the commitment and the rest of the month of October.
