Mel Kiper's Final NFL Draft Big Board

Tuesday morning ESPN NFL draft guru Mel Kiper updated his NFL draft big board. This is different than a mock draft. This is just a pure ranking of players based on talent. As we know they can be two very different things. A mock draft will be impacted by a teams need or what inside sources are saying about who a team might covet. Also as we know, quarterback is a high demand position, which means teams will take a quarterback over a higher caliber running back for example based on the potential.

As we’ve seen pretty continuously, Bo Nix is going in the first round. Typically around No. 12 to the Broncos. Jackson Powers-Johnson has been going towards the late first round and into the early second. Wide receiver Troy Franklin mostly the same as JPJ.

Here is where Kiper has each Oregon player on his big board of the top 150 prospects.

31. Bo Nix

52. Troy Franklin

57. Jackson Powers-Johnson

97. Brandon Dorlus

128. Khyree Jackson

135. Bucky Irving

At Pick No. 31, that would put Nix on the San Francisco 49’ers. Obviously with Brock Purdy running that team, that pick wouldn’t happen in the real world. That would also make Nix the second-to-last pick in the first round.

At pick no. 52, Troy Franklin would find himself on the Pittsburgh Steelers. I’ve seen the Steelers drafting a receiver there in other mock drafts, so that one might actually make some sense. But again, these are rankings, not draft projections.

At pick No. 57 that would put JPJ on the Tampa Bay Bucs. Who have a distinct need at center. The latest mock draft from Jordan Reid on ESPN has the Bucs taking center Zach Frazier here. But the reality is someone will be drafting JPJ long before this spot.

Pick No. 97 would put Dorlus on the Bengals.

Pick No. 128 would put Jackson on the Buffalo Bills.

Pick No. 135 would put Bucky on the San Francisco 49’ers.
