NIL Game for Prospective College Athletes & Fans

A new NIL-based game has been created for fans and recruits alike. And again the tree of Phil Knight continues to push the envelope of legal NIL ventures for all student athletes.

Long-time Phil Knight associate Rudy Chapa has pioneered a new venture in the NIL space, Prospex. This time essentially creating digital trading cards. In short, all student-athletes can create these digital cards specific to a school.

For example, Oregon commit Jurrion Dickey has three cards on his profile. One for Oregon, Penn State and Tennessee. Which means he’s considering those three programs. Oregon Penn State and Tennessee fans alike can buy his NFT/Card for $100 each and whichever school Dickey signs with, he’ll keep 85% of that collection. Whichever school is not picked, those fans would be returned 90% of their money.

Uncommitted prospects (of Oregon interest) currently with a Prospex NFT card include: Matayo Uiagelelei, Rodrick Pleasant

Both have multiple schools on their Prospex profiles. Florida quarterback commit Jaden Rashada also has Ole Miss, Miami and Oregon cards.

While it’s a little late in the 2023 recruiting cycle for most, this could become a major factor in 2024 with that recruiting cycle getting started.

Prospex Press Release

Portland, Oregon. Today, Prospex launched a transformative new NIL game, which
allows passionate college sports fans to purchase, trade, and collect digital trading
cards to demonstrate their support for the prospective college athletes considering their
school.

“Prospex has the potential to totally transform the way NIL works for college athletes –
allowing everyday fans to show direct support to the athletes considering their school.
Most importantly, it offers athletes an open, transparent way to assess and capture their
true NIL value at the schools they are considering.” says Patricia Eiting, one of Prospex’
founders.

Prospex is partnering with On3, one of the nation’s leading sports media companies, to
introduce this entirely new way to engage fans directly in the college NIL marketplace,
bringing fairness and transparency to the world of college recruiting.

“We are excited to work with Prospex and believe in the long-term value here for high
profile high school athletes,” said Shannon Terry, Founder and CEO of On3. “We just
launched our On3 Athlete Network, which helps athletes to understand their NIL
Valuation and help them capitalize on additional revenue opportunities and Prospex is
an important part of that.”

When an athlete signs with a school, their limited edition Prospex card will be minted
into a physical or web3 collectible. For those going the digital route, Prospex is
partnering with Sparq Games to create 3D animated game characters. These game
characters can then be used in the Sparq gaming ecosystem releasing in 2023.

“We are excited for the opportunity to partner with Prospex and On3 to help athletes
gain exposure and capitalize on their NIL opportunities. Engaging the fanbases of these
universities is an untapped and essential part of the NIL ecosystem. Combining the reach and insight of On3 with the gamification of NIL opens the door to a bright new future.” Mike Wagle – CEO Sparq Games

Prospex will launch with a group of highly-rated football athletes from the class of 2023,
including 4 and 5 star recruits like Jurrion Dickey, Matayo Uiagalelei, Rodrick Pleasant,
Blake Nichelson, and Jaden Rashada. Each athlete can identify up to 10 schools in their
decision process, and their marketplace page will feature digital trading cards
associated with the colors of each school under consideration. Participating fans can
buy these school-specific cards to show their schools’ passion and support for these
athletes.

“Right now, athletes typically don’t know their NIL value and would accept the promise
of “big numbers”, when in reality the merchant still gains more than the athlete. With
Prospex we have the opportunity to actually find out what we are worth in the eyes of
fans,” says Jurrion Dickey, a top wide receiver from Menlo-Atherton High School in
Atherton, California.
