Dan Lanning has officially found his program’s next offensive line coach.

On Tuesday, the University of Oregon announced that it has hired A’Lique Terry as the school’s offensive line coach. He will replace Adrian Klemm, who left UO to join the New England Patriots coaching staff earlier this month.

“We are thrilled to welcome A’lique back to the Oregon family,” Lanning said. “A’lique is very familiar with our program and understands the values and goals that we have here in Eugene. He is passionate, with unique experiences that range from the college ranks all the way to the NFL as a coach. He also has experience as a player, competing at the Power 5 level on the offensive line.

“His relationships with our current and past student-athletes are unmatched, and his reputation as a teacher precedes him. We are really excited about what A’lique brings to our program and the positive impact he’ll have on our student-athletes both on and off the field.”

Terry, a former graduate assistant with the Ducks from 2019-20, returns to Eugene after spending last year on the Minnesota Vikings coaching staff. In Minnesota, he served as an assistant defensive line coach.

In 2021, Terry was the offensive line coach for the University of Hawai’i.

During his first stint with the Ducks, Terry worked with an offensive line group that was one of the best in the nation under Mario Cristobal and Alex Mirabal. In 2019, Terry worked with former Oregon standout Penei Sewell, a unanimous first-team All-American who won the Outland Trophy that season.

Former Ducks Shane Lemieux and Calvin Throckmorton also received All-American honors during Terry’s time in Eugene.

“I am really excited to return to the University of Oregon,” Terry said. “I want to thank Coach Lanning and the Oregon administration for this incredible opportunity to be a part of what they are building in Eugene. I’ve experienced first-hand how special Oregon is, and I couldn’t be more fired up to get back and connect with our student-athletes. I am very appreciative and can’t wait to get to work.”

Prior to his time in Eugene, Terry was a quality control coach at his alma mater, Wake Forrest, where he worked with the program’s offensive linemen and running backs.

Terry played four seasons with the Demon Deacons from 2013-17 and graduated with a degree in communications and a minor in entrepreneurship and business.

Terry becomes to third on-field coach to join Lanning’s staff this offseason.

Former offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Kenny Dillingham left to become Arizona State’s head coach in November.

In December, Ducks’ co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach Matt Powledge left to become Baylor’s defensive coordinator.

Oregon replaced Dillingham with former UTSA offensive coordinator Will Stein. Last month, the University announced that it has hired former Tulane defensive coordinator Chris Hampton to fill Powledge’s role.
