The Oregon Ducks will open their season this afternoon against the Portland State Vikings at Autzen Stadium in Eugene. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. PT.

While there is plenty of excitement surrounding Dan Lanning’s squad ahead of the 2023 campaign, the Ducks could be missing some firepower in Week 1.

Oregon does not publicly release injury reports, and Lanning has typically opted not to discuss injuries this spring. But here is the latest Ducks injury report ahead of Saturday’s matchup with Portland State based on recent observations from practice.

Doubtful

OL Nishad Strother: The East Carolina transfer is in the mix to start at left guard for the Ducks this season. But his right arm has been in a sling since last week, and it’s looking increasingly unlikely that he will be available for the season opener. Marcus Harper II is the likely starter at left guard.

WR Josh Delgado: The veteran receiver has been sidelined since spring ball with a leg injury. He returned to practice on Tuesday for the first time this fall as a limited participant. But he was absent from Wednesday’s practice.

EDGE Teitum Tuioti: The 4-star freshman was one of the early standouts of Oregon’s fall camp and appeared to have a chance to crack the two-deep. But he’s missed the past few weeks of practice with an undisclosed injury.

DL Tevita Pome’e: The 3-star freshman has been sidelined for the majority of fall camp with an unspecified injury.

Questionable

LB Jestin Jacobs: The Iowa transfer is expected to start at inside linebacker and be a major difference-maker for the Ducks this season. But he has been a limited participant for much of fall camp. This week, he was seen practicing in trainers instead of cleats. If he is unable to play on Saturday, Jamal Hill and Devon Jackson could both see significant playing time.

TE Casey Kelly: The Ole Miss transfer is projected to be a significant contributor at tight end this season behind returning starter Terrance Ferguson. But he was absent from practice on Wednesday. When asked about Kelly afterward, Lanning said “I think he’ll be fine.”

Probable

DB Evan Williams: The Fresno State transfer, who received preseason all-conference honors, is a projected starter at safety for Oregon. He was a limited participant during the open portion of Wednesday’s practice but appears to still be in contention to play in Week 1.

OL Jackson Powers-Johnson: Oregon’s starting center missed a large chunk of fall camp with an undisclosed injury. But he was back at practice this week and is expected to be good to go for Saturday.
