Now that the regular season has come to a close, it’s worth checking on where Oregon’s true freshman class stands in terms of games played and eligibility.

Oregon’s 2022 signing class featured 17 scholarship players, all of whom enrolled and were with the program this season. Of those 17, just four have exceeded the four-game redshirt threshold and have officially burned their redshirt, while three have played in exactly four games.

There are eight Oregon true freshmen who have seen playing time this season but will end the year have played fewer than four games. Only two Ducks’ freshmen have not played in a game this season.

Here’s a breakdown of where every Oregon true freshman stands in terms of eligibility.

Played in more than four games and will not redshirt

  • OL Josh Conerly Jr. — The gem of Oregon’s ’22 signing class, Conerly has been Oregon’s most impactful freshman on the offensive side of the ball and has played in 12 games. According to Pro Football Focus, he has played 115 offensive snaps and has garnered a very respectable overall grade of 67.3. He has been a key piece of Oregon’s “14J” jumbo formation this season.
  • RB Jordan James — Despite competing for snaps in a crowded running back room, James has found his way onto the field plenty this season. He’s been an effective goal-line back for the Ducks and is tied with Noah Whittington for second on the team at five rushing touchdowns. James has run for 162 yards on 43 carries in nine games.
  • DB Khamari Terrell —After turning heads during fall camp, Terrell earned significant early playing time. He played more than 10 defensive snaps in wins over Eastern Washington, BYU, and Stanford, and has recorded seven tackles in nine games.
  • DB Jahlil Florence — No Oregon freshman has played more snaps on the defensive side of the ball than Florence thus far. The former 4-star recruit has played 181 snaps in seven games. That total would have been higher, but he missed a stretch of games in the middle of the season. Florence has recorded eight tackles, 1.0 TFL, and one interception.

Have played in exactly four games

  • LB Devon Jackson — The majority of Jackson’s playing time has come on special teams. He has one tackle on the year.
  • OL Dave Iuli — Iuli has played more snaps than any offensive freshman besides Conerly and James. The former 4-star has played 53 offensive snaps in total.
  • DL Ben Roberts — Roberts has played 48 snaps on the year and recorded three tackles.

Will play in fewer than four games and redshirt

Three games

  • WR Kyler Kasper — Kasper made his first career catch — a four-yard reception — against Arizona. He played 19 snaps against Eastern Washington, nine against Arizona, and seven against Colorado.
  • LB Harrison Taggart — Taggart has not recorded a stat. He played one snap against Eastern Washington, three against BYU, and five against Stanford.

Two games

  • LB Emar’rion Winston — Winston has not recorded a stat. He played six snaps against Eastern Washington and one against Arizona.
  • OL Kawika Rogers — Rogers played 13 snaps against Eastern Washington and two against Stanford.

One game

  • LB Anthony Jones — Jones played five snaps against Colorado and recorded one tackle.
  • DB Jalil Tucker — There seems to be a discrepancy regarding Tucker’s playing time, as Oregon’s stat department lists him on the participation sheet for the Eastern Washington game but also has him listed as playing zero games in its cumulative season stats. According to PFF, Tucker played seven snaps against EWU.
  • DL Sir Mells — Mells played four snaps against Eastern Washington.
  • OL Michael Wooten — Wooten played two snaps against Stanford.

Have yet to play this season

  • WR Justius Lowe
  • DB Trejon Williams
