Oregon made an appeal to have DJ Johnson’s targeting call overturned after the senior edge rusher was ejected from the Ducks’ Week 4 win over Washington State in Pullman.

The University appealed the ruling against Johnson after officials last Saturday ruled that he led with the crown of his helmet while making a fourth-quarter tackle.

According to Ducks’ head coach Dan Lanning, that appeal has been denied.

Johnson, who leads the Ducks with three sacks this season, will miss the first half of Saturday’s matchup with Stanford in Eugene.
