Well it’s nearly that time. And no I’m not talking about Thanksgiving, although it’s almost that time too.

As we do every Wednesday, we’ve offered up our predictions on this weeks game and what could transpire on Saturday. And in case you haven’t noticed, yes this one is on Saturday not Friday this year.

Without further delay, here are the predictions from the team at ScoopDuck.

Jarrid Denney: Oregon State 38, Oregon 28

This is a terrible matchup for the Ducks, and it is coming at a terrible time. I don’t think Oregon will look as lifeless as it did against Utah, but I don’t believe they will improve quickly enough to stop Oregon State’s ground game.

The Beavers are really good offensively and will try to beat the Ducks the same way Utah did. I would count on them succeeding. Maybe Oregon can win this one in a shootout, but for the first time all season, I’m picking against the Ducks.

Joel Gunderson: Oregon State 42, Oregon 31

Call it a vibe, call it fear…call it whatever you want. The mood around the Oregon program shifted violently after Saturday, and I absolutely do not like what I’ve seen since. Mario Cristobal looked despondent and defeated in his Monday press conference. Joe Moorhead stumbled through vague answers as to what went wrong.

Also, Oregon State is the exact kind of team to give the Ducks fits. They run the ball as good as any team Oregon has faced; they’re confident; and they’re motivated. All of those factors rolled into a rivalry game is bad news.

I hope I’m wrong. But right now, nothing about this game feels positive.

Corpatty: Oregon 31, Oregon State 24

I think Oregon is going to start slow battling a bit of a hangover from the Utah loss.  However I think they turn it on in the second half and win this one by a TD sending them to the Pac-12 championship game and a rematch with the Utes.

Jhop: Oregon 37, Oregon State 34

Wow, I’m surprised to see some of my colleagues picking against the Ducks. Then again, not all that surprised.

That was a really bad loss to Utah and it raises some questions for all of us.

This thing is going one of two ways for me. Really good, or really bad. And I’m not sure there is an in-between.

Oregon State will be up for this game, I have no doubt about that. Which means Oregon has to match or exceed that energy level. And with the dangling carrot of a playoff in front of them, it’s going to be very important for the coaches to get them motivated.

On paper, Oregon should win this game 9.5 out of 10 times. But coming off that Utah loss, it’s going to be a huge task for this Oregon staff to get this team re-committed to winning and focused.

This one will be closer than it should be, I’m just glad it’s at home.
