Three of Oregon’s more pivotal players have been tabbed as preseason All-Americans by a notable outlet.

On Monday, Athlon Sports released its preseason All-American teams and the Ducks were well-represented.

Oregon linebacker Noah Sewell has been selected as a first-team preseason All-American honors, while offensive lineman T.J. Bass was a third-team selection and defensive end Brandon Dorlus received fourth-team honors.

Earlier this offseason, Sewell was tabbed by On3 as the favorite to win the Butkus Award, which is given annually to the top linebacker in college football.

In 2021, Sewell was a first-team all-conference selection while racking up a team-high 106 tackles. He was also second among Oregon players with 8.5 tackles for loss and four sacks. He is the program’s top 2023 NFL Draft prospect, and many scouts and analysts believe he could be the best inside linebacker in the draft.

Last season, Bass was a first-team all-Pac-12 selection and received the 14th best run-blocking grade for any offensive guard in the nation from Pro Football Focus.

Dorlus recorded 25 tackles, seven tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks last year while providing a consistent, dominant presence for the Ducks’ defense.

Last season, Oregon safety Verone McKinley III was a consensus All-American, while edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux was a unanimous All-American.
