Penn State tweets of the day

We start with recruiting. Penn State Class of 2024 tight end commit Luke Reynolds is one of the biggest risers in the new On3 On300 rankings, which were updated this week. The Westford, Mass., native who plays at Cheshire Academy in Connecticut jumped from No. 83 to No. 38, which puts him on the cusp of five-star status.

Luke Reynolds has put together quite the senior season,” On3 national scout Cody Bellarie said. “He is a complete player at the position from a skillset perspective and has shown some flashes of truly elite YAC ability. He is what the modern hybrid offensive player looks like at the next level. His ability to play as an H-back, in-line Y, slot receiver and true wideout makes him a complete mismatch no matter where he lines up between the white lines.”

Adds On3 director of scouting and rankings, Charles Power:

“The Westford (Mass.) Cheshire Academy product has a skill set that his highly projectable at the position. Reynolds’ wiggle and movement skills as a route-runner along with his plus athleticism and gritty nature after the catch bode well for his long-term projection. Reynolds is in a three man race at the top for the On3’s No. 1 tight end alongside with Alabama commit Caleb Odom (No. 27) and LSU pledge Trey’Dez Green (No. 35).”

Quote of the day

“One thing that really stood out is the culture. “It shows how much the coaches and players care about each other. Also, the fans and how much they care about their football team. No matter what, they’re cheering on the team.”

Howard went on to add, “I loved the grit in the team. Coming back from a hard loss against Michigan, they played a great game offensively, defensively and on special teams. They battled all game and came out with the win. I got to meet a lot of the recruiting staff, too. They were all very nice people. Coach [Khalil] Ahmad makes me feel like family. Everything stood out to me.”
