The Blue-White game kicks off tomorrow for Penn State fans, but the game is about more than the current team. It’s also the biggest recruiting weekend of the Spring, so recruiting insider Ryan Snyder joins the BWI Daily Edition to break it all down. He and host Thomas Frank Carr discuss the names to know for the Class of 2023, 2024, and 2025 who will be in attendance this weekend.

Penn State land Jameial Lyons

But before they get to that, the duo discusses the most important news of the day, a new commitment. Four-star defensive end Jameial Lyons from Roman Catholic high school in Philadelphia chose the Nittany Lions on Friday afternoon. Snyder spoke with Lyons and shared what the 255-pound edge rusher had to say about why he chose the Nittany Lions. T-Frank gives some of his thoughts on Lyons’ skills but saves most of his ideas for his evaluation, which is coming later.

After learning about Lyons, T-Frank asks Snyder to assess the defensive end position for 2023. It’s a loaded position group in the region this cycle, so what does Lyons’ commitment mean to the rest of the class? He and T-Frank also discuss how many edge rushers Penn State could take this year.

Blue-White visitor list

With Lyons’ commitment wrapped up, they move on to the visitor list for the Blue-White game on Saturday. As always, this list isn’t complete. To get the full list of names, sign up for just one dollar to Blue White Illustrated and access the Lions Den premium forum.

Snyder discusses the key names attending this weekend, including linebacker Tony Rojas. The Class of 2023 target returns to Penn State for the first time since visiting other top schools in Tennessee and Georgia. Snyder and T-Frank discuss how important he is to the class and what Snyder wants to know when he speaks with Rojas next.

After that, two new recruiting names are crop up for 2023 in this edition of the Daily. Twin linebackers Andrew and Michael Harris make their first trip to Happy Valley this weekend, and Snyder gives some background on their recruitment. T-Frank is impressed with their film and gives a comment that goes against one of his tenants for this cycle.

They discuss key names in the Class of 2024, including athlete Quinton Martin. In fact, Snyder has new info to share about Martin and how Penn State sees him positionally. So he gives T-Frank that information before discussing the other relevant names, including offensive linemen Peter Jones and Ben Roebuck.

Finally, they wrap up with the Class of 2025 and what to expect after the game this weekend.
