The Penn State football newsstand for Feb. 10 is loaded with the latest recruiting news.

An On3 Consensus five-star prospect in the Class of 2023 shaved his massive list of suitors to just seven late Wednesday night. The Lions made the cut. And, in other news, they also sent out some new offers in the middle of the week.

Beyond that, today’s top tweets and headlines about Penn State and college football include praise for former Lion Arnold Ebiketie and much more. Let’s dive in.

Penn State tweets of the day

We start with Kadyn Proctor.

The towering 6-foot-6, 318-pound offensive tackle from Des Moines, Iowa., Southeast Polk High reports 25 offers. Only a handful of schools are still in play to land the On3 Consensus fifth-ranked junior and top 2023 tackle, however.

Penn State is one of them. Head coach James Franklin’s program made the cut along with Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame, Iowa, Oregon.

“Penn State worked their way in, a really good vibe from their coaches and everyone there,” Proctor told On3’s Hayes Fawcett. “I have great talks on the phone all the time with them.”

The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine currently makes the in-state Hawkeyes the favorite. To have any chance at landing Proctor, who has an On3 NIL valuation of $19,400, the Lions must host him this spring or summer.

Next, we move on to the new offers sent out by Penn State on Wednesday.

In the Class of 2023, the Lions joined the race for Durham, N.C., edge Jaybron Harvey.

Moving onto the Class of 2024, PSU offered Baltimore St. Frances defensive lineman Darrion Smith and Chandler, Ariz., four-star quarterback Dylan Raiola.

Finally, we wrap things up with a note on Arnold Ebiketie. One NFL Draft analyst says he will be the “steal” of this year’s pro selection process. It’s scheduled to be held in April.

The former Penn State end is one of eight onetime members of the roster who will first go to the NFL Combine in March. More on that below.

Quote of the day

“The number one thing that probably stood out was the coaches. I loved the coaches there. They’re real nice, really easy to talk to kind of people. I loved that they treated everyone equally, too.

“Some schools will kind of lean towards certain guys, treat a four-star special over a zero-star, but the coaches down there really treated everyone equal throughout the whole day. It didn’t matter if you had all these offers or not. They saw you as someone that’s important to them and I loved it.”
