Penn State continues to search for additional offensive linemen in its Class of 2023. Although the Nittany Lions already hold commitments from three four-star players – Alex Birchmeier, Jven Williams and Anthony DonkohPhil Trautwein is still searching for one more addition to an already strong group.

Over the past month, junior college prospect Keyshawn Blackstock had emerged as a top target for the staff, and now another has popped up in Australia native Frankie Tinilau. A former rugby player, Tinilau currently plays at La Salle in Miami, Fla. Although he committed to Miami back in April, Tinilau has shown interest in other schools, recently visiting Florida in October.

However, he also said in a recent interview that Miami’s struggles on the field haven’t impacted his commitment to the Hurricanes.

“A loss is never easy to take, but I’m confident in what I can bring to the U that will help turn this around and make sure Miami never feels this pain again,” Tinilau said. “There is a lot of missing pieces to the puzzle but we must trust this coaching staff to work this out. As commits, we must do our part and help build this empire.”

Listed at 6-foot-5, 315 pounds, Tinilau currently holds a three-star rating in the On3 Consensus. On3 rates him the highest of the the four major sites as the 53rd-ranked offensive tackle in the nation.

Penn State currently holds commitments from 20 players total in its Class of 2023 and ranks No. 12 overall in the nation and No. 2 in the Big Ten. The Nittany Lions have 14 four-star players committed in the class.
