Time for our Penn state weekly recruiting update presented by our friend Andy Luedecke at MyPerfectFranchise. Andy is a huge college sports fan and franchise veteran, having owned multiple franchises and businesses. Using his expertise, he helps others find their American Dream through a very thorough consultation and evaluation process.

The Penn State football coaches are pulling double-duty this week with the transfer portal at full blast and recruiting heading into the final stretch of the 2023 cycle. To get you caught up on all the important news, recruiting insiders Ryan Snyder and Sean Fitz sit down to discuss what’s happened this past week and what’s coming up this weekend. Subscribe to the BWI Daily Edition Recruiting show on YouTube, so you don’t miss the show!

Penn State transfer portal activity

Snyder and Fitz start the show by discussing the latest news in the transfer portal, which is on everyone’s mind. Next, Snyder relays the total number of entries as of recording time Tuesday morning, which is staggering. After discussing the breadth of the names in the portal, Fitz explains how he thinks Penn State fans should filter through all of those names to get a sense of who the Nittany Lions might be targeting.

Next, they get into the names of players that the team has officially offered. First, they discuss Dante Cephas, Dorian Singer, Jimmy Horn Jr., and other receivers to whom the program hasn’t publicly offered but has strong ties. Next, they discuss the defensive player and lineman offers that went out before recording, which includes Elijah Jeudy, Ajani Cornelius, and Khyree Jackson.

Preview of official visit weekend

This weekend is as important as the portal news for the Class of 2023. Penn State is hosting it’s biggest official visit weekend in December before the official signing period later in the month. One of those players, defensive end Mason Robinson, is a potential flip candidate that the duo is watching closely. Check out the show to find out what caused the McDonough defensive end to explore his options outside his commitment to Northwestern.

After discussing Robinson, they zoom out to look at the important names heading to Happy Valley this weekend for an official visit, including JUCO lineman Keyshawn Blackstock, running backs Christopher Johnson and Kedrick Reescano, quarterback Jaxon Smolik and defensive end Joseph Mupoyi. Next, Fitz and Snyder discuss what they know about each player’s status with the team and what priorities the program places on those players.

Finally, they delve into where the coaching staff is this week and some of the players they’re visiting scattered across the country.
