Penn State fans have been waiting for this one. Since news broke Saturday morning that Philadelphia wide receiver Tyseer Denmark was taking an official visit to Penn State, it’s been all positive for the Nittany Lions ever since.

Late that evening, both Sean Fitz and myself logged RPM picks for Denmark after conversations with sources about how the visit was trending. It then became clear the following day that the former Oregon commit had backed out of his original commitment.

Denmark has been quiet since coming out of the visit, but that all changed Tuesday afternoon, as the On300 wide receiver from Roman Catholic announced via Twitter that he’ll make his commitment Wednesday evening. It’s expected to come around 6 p.m. ET.

Listed at 5-foot-10, 185 pounds, Denmark has long been considered one of Penn State’s top targets at the position. Even after he committed to Oregon, talks with Denmark and those close to him never let up. At one point this spring he was expected to take an unofficial visit. However, he ultimately canceled the trip when it became public.

If Denmark does choose the Nittany Lions he’ll be the first wide receiver to commit to Penn State’s Class of 2024. Assistant coach Marques Hagans and the entire staff are trending with a few other players, however.

Pittsburgh native Peter Gonzalez, who also took an official visit to PSU this past weekend, is expected to announce his commitment soon. Nick Marsh, from Michigan, and Josiah Brown, from New York, are also believed to be trending towards the Nittany Lions following recent official visits.

Currently, Penn State’s Class of 2024 holds 17 commitments, including the top two players in Pennsylvania, Ath. Quinton Martin and OL Cooper Cousins. Denmark is currently the third-ranked prospect.
