Spring practice may have just started last weekend, but Penn State will already be one-third of the way through by the end of the day. Following an open practice in front of the media Tuesday, Penn State head coach James Franklin and his staff will now practice in front of a much smaller audience Thursday, with only a few recruits expected to attend.

Fans can check out the list of expected prospects below.

Outside the Box: Under the radar key targets for Penn State

CB Onis Konanbanny (2025)

Cornerback prospect Onis Konanbanny is the only scholarship player on campus today. A Class of 2025 prospect, Konanbanny was born in France. He moved to London when he was young and started playing five-man football a few years ago before moving to the United States to pursue a scholarship.

He ended up at Rabun Gap-Nacoochee in Georgia, which sends players to the Division I level yearly. Listed at 6-foot-2, 170 pounds, Konanbanny’s length is a major reason why he’s earned a dozen scholarship offers in the span of two months. Penn State offered just 10 days ago, March 13.

OL Sean Kinney (2024)

A native of Nazareth, Pa., Sean Kinney picked up his first Football Bowl Subdivision scholarship offers just over a week ago from Army and Navy. Listed at 6-foot-2, 290 pounds, height will likely be an issue when it comes to scholarship opportunities at a school like Penn State, but Kinney’s a quality player.

I could see the staff pushing for him as a preferred walk-on down the road if he has interest. Getting accurate measurements on Kinney will be one of the key things for the staff to learn today. He’s expected to visit Boston College next weekend and went to James Madison earlier this month.

OL Jake Cook (2025)

A native of Westville, Ohio, offensive lineman Jake Cook is currently listed at 6-foot-5, 305 pounds. The rising junior has never visited Penn State, but he has visited many of the region’s top schools, including Cincinnati, Illinois, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame and Ohio State. Cook is closing in on a dozen offers so far, all of which are from Group of Five schools.
