Purdue landed one of its top defensive targets in the cycle on Saturday afternoon, three-star Collins Hill (Ga.) edge rusher Katrell Webb. Webb took an official visit to West Lafayette in late May and now commits to the Boilermakers over a month after he was on campus.

Webb had a highly-contested recruitment prior to his announcement, as the Boilermakers landed the Georgia native over the likes of Florida State, Indiana, Mississippi State and Stanford, all of which hosted Webb for official visits. He also earned offers from the likes of Miami (Fla.), Michigan, Tennessee, South Carolina, Ole Miss and others during his recruitment. Webb holds an 87.51 industry ranking, according to On3, while being the 61st ranked EDGE and 66th ranked player in Georgia for the 2026 class.

What stands out about Webb on film is his get-off and speed from his edge rusher position, as the 6-2, 225-pound defender posed a significant threat to opposing offenses as a junior, racking up 68 total tackles, 29 tackles for loss and 13 sacks for Collins Hill in 2024.

Purdue now has two edge rushers locked into the 2026 recruiting class, with Webb joining Hillcrest (Ill.) standout Max Carmicle, who announced his commitment to the Boilermakers earlier this month. The Boilermakers have netted seven commitments since the end of official visits with Webb’s pledge, along with defensive linemen Jamarcus Whyce, Kobe Cherry, Josiah Hope and Aiden Solecki, athlete/tight end Dream Rashad, wide receiver Brandon Kinsey, offensive lineman Terrell Berryhill.

The latest commitment in that group gives Purdue 20 members in the 2026 class.
