SMU looking to wrap it up
09/06/2025 01:57:30 PMThe SMU defense forced a fumble to give the offense the ball in a great position. The Mustang offense chewed 4:59 off the clock as TJ Harden finished off his hat trick of touchdowns. SMU head coach Rhett Lashlee prides his teams’ on finishing, and the Mustangs are doing a great job to start the fourth quarter. SMU leads 38-24 with 8:38 remaining, the largest Mustang lead of the day.

09/06/2025 01:48:04 PMRight at the start of the fourth quarter, Harden takes a run right up the middle and goes untouched, 40 yards to the house! SMU quickly re-takes the lead, 31-24. A much need spark for the Mustangs with 14:24 left in regulation.
Baylor ties the game
09/06/2025 01:20:05 PMAfter Colin Rogers missed a 51-yard field goal, the Baylor offense took advantage of the field position and tied the game. A couple of holding penalties derailed the Bears drive. The game is all tied up at 24 with 5:04 to play in the third quarter.
HALFTIME: SMU 24- Baylor 21
09/06/2025 12:34:38 PMSMU got off to a quick, 10-0 start and have held onto the lead ever since. Kevin Jennings is a perfect 10-10 for 236 yards and two touchdowns. Baylor will get the ball to start the second half.
SMU defense struggling to find a stop
09/06/2025 12:31:23 PMBaylor converted a fourth and one early on its drive and made SMU pay for not coming up with the stop. Baylor drives 79 yards in 11 plays, taking 4:07 off the clock. The drive was finished off with a Brycen Washington 7-yard touchdown. SMU leads 24-21 with 37 seconds left in the half.
Jalen Cooper bursts onto the scene
09/06/2025 12:20:45 PMAfter scoring a touchdown last week, the true freshman slipped behind the Baylor defense and jogs into the end zone for the 75-yard score. SMU quickly goes back up 10 points, 24-14. Baylor needs a score before the half, 4:38 remaining.
Baylor cuts back into the SMU lead
09/06/2025 12:16:49 PMThe Bears put together a strong, seven play 75-yard touchdown drive and only took 2:12 off the clock. The SMU cornerbacks continue to get beat all over the field. SMU still holds onto a three-point lead, 17-14, with 5:07 remaining in the half.
Mustangs punch back
09/06/2025 12:05:46 PMSMU answers the Baylor touchdown with a score of its own. SMU took 4:51 off the clock with an 11 play 65-yard drive that was capped off by a three-yard touchdown run from TJ Harden. SMU re-establishes its 10-point lead, 17-7, with 7:19 remaining in the first half.

09/06/2025 11:54:50 AMThe Bears drive 81 yards on nine plays to get on the board. Robertson finds Prentice out of the slot for a 28-yard touchdown on 3rd and 1. SMU still leads, 10-7 with 12:12 left in the second quarter.

09/06/2025 11:47:18 AMSMU got off to a dream start against Baylor, scoring a 75-yard touchdown on the first play from scrimmage. Since then, the story of the game is the SMU defense forcing stops on fourth down. The Mustangs tacked on a field goal and remain in front 15 minutes in.
SMU adds to its lead
09/06/2025 11:28:30 AMAfter the defense forced an impressive turnover on downs, the Mustang offense drove down to the 25-yard line. The drive stalled out, but Colin Rogers begins his field goal campaign by drilling a 43-yard field goal through the uprights. SMU now leads 10-0 with 7:03 remaining in the opening quarter.
WHAT A PLAY
09/06/2025 11:12:34 AMOn the first play from scrimmage Kevin Jennings somehow finds Romello Brinson for a 75-yard touchdown! The Baylor defender let the ball slip through his hands and Brinson showed incredible concentration to make the catch and run it in for the score. SMU leads 7-0 with 14 minutes left in the first quarter.
