Arkansas transfer linebacker Chris Paul Jr. picked up an SMU offer on Wednesday, he announced on Twitter.

Baylor, UCF, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Florida State, Missouri, Auburn and TCU, among others have extended offers. The Rebels host him for an official visit this coming weekend.

The 6-foot-1, 233 pound linebacker will have two years of eligibility remaining. Paul was named a Freshman All-American, a Butkus Award Watch List Nominee in 2023, and was named First-Team All SEC in 2022.

In 28 games as a Razorback, Paul made 137 total tackles, 15 tackles for loss and six sacks. He also forced a fumble and defended a pass. His final season in Fayetteville, he made 74 total tackles with 6.5 tackles for loss and two sacks.

Paul finished the 2023-24 season with 74 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss and two sacks. He had an overall PFF grade of 59.2, including a run defense grade of 65.4, a tackling grade of 76.8, and a pass-rush grade of 64.5. His coverage grade was 51.6.

According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Paul was the No. 785 overall prospect in the 2021 class out of Crisp County (Ga.) in Cordele. He was ranked as the 78th overall linebacker and the 71st-ranked prospect from the Peach State. As a senior, he made 91 total tackles in 11 games as well as 20 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks.
