Tonight, South Carolina legend Rick Sanford will be one of five players inducted into the SC Football Hall of Fame.

“It’s quite an honor to stand up there tonight and accept this award because there’s so many great players in this little group of ours now,” said Sanford. “To think that I’m only one of maybe what, 50 or so across the whole state of South Carolina (to be inducted) is just a wonder honor.”

Joining Sanford in this year’s class are Jeff Bostic (Clemson University), Peter Boulware (Columbia, SC/FSU), Dwayne Harper (Orangeburg, SC/SCSCU), and Chester McGlockton (Clemson/Legacy Inductee).

Prior to the event starting at 6:30 p.m., Sanford took some time to catch up with Gamecock Central to share what this night means to him as well as his thoughts on Shane Beamer as he heads into his second season as head coach of the Gamecocks.
