South Carolina is one of seven finalists for 2024 top-five point guard Jaloni Cambridge.
Cambridge made the announcement Sunday on social media. The other finalists are LSU, Baylor, Georgia, Ohio State, Florida, and Louisville.
Cambridge is the top-ranked point guard in 2024 and third-ranked player overall. At one point she was the top-ranked player in the class.
Cambridge is the latest in a family of talented basketball players. Two brothers played at Arizona State last season. One sister, Jordyn, is an SEC All-defensive player for Vanderbilt. Another sister, Kennedy, played last season at Kentucky and transferred to Ohio State this offseason.
South Carolina offered Cambridge in May of 2021. Cambridge visited Columbia in January and again in February for the LSU game. She plays travel ball for FBC United, the same program that produced Raven Johnson, Kamilla Cardoos, Talaysia Cooper, MIlaysia Fulwiley, and others.
South Carolina has not yet signed anyone in the 2024 class. The Gamecocks currently have between three and six open scholarships for next season.
