South Carolina made the top 11 for 2025 forward Sienna Betts out of Colorado.
Betts made the announcement on Memorial Day on social media. Her other finalists are Duke, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Ohio State, UCLA, Southern Cal, UConn, Oregon, Arizona, and Michigan.
Betts is the younger sister of 2022’s top recruit Lauren Betts, who committed to Stanford and transferred to UCLA after her freshman season. Lauren was a 6-7 post and Sienna doesn’t quite have the same size or inside presence, but she is not far behind.
Sienna is effective on the low block, but she is able to move a little better than Lauren and play away from the basket. She played the stretch four to Lauren’s post when they were on the same team. Sienna can hit jump shots or score off the dribble, and opposing coaches call her a relentless rebounder. She’s also a strong passer.
Betts is listed as 6-3 by HoopGurlz, but 6-5 by other recruiting services. She averaged 21.8 points, 16.1 rebounds, and 3.4 assists as a sophomore and was named the Gatorade state player of the year (Lauren won the last two seasons).
Betts could be just scratching the surface. After years of battling fatigue during games, she was recently diagnosed with asthma. Since the diagnosis and treatment, Betts
South Carolina was also a finalist for Lauren out of high school, but she signed with Stanford.
