South Carolina is one of five finalists for 2024 forward Justice Carlton.

Carlton made the announcement Friday evening on social media. Her other finalists are Arizona, UConn, Texas, and LSU. Carlton had initially listed a top twenty last August before trimming down that list

Carlton is a 6-2 forward from Katy, TX. She is the fourth-ranked overall player in the 2024 class. She is an elite offensive player who can score from all three levels. Carlton has good instincts around the basket that she accentuates with a strong shooting touch.

Carlton is primarily a face-up player on offense and operates from the high post. Her skill set is similar to Sania Feagin, the former top-five recruit who is expected to take on a major role for South Carolina next season.

She also has good instincts on defense and plays with effort which gets her a lot of steals and rebounds. But it’s Carlton’s offensive ability that makes her a top-five prospect. She was the leading scorer at the EYBL championship last summer.

Carlton made a big jump last summer, rising from 21st to 3rd in the HoopGurlz rankings. She has settled into the top five with each successive re-ranking.

South Carolina does not have any commitments for 2024. The Gamecocks are a finalist for Blanca Thomas, who will announce her commitment on Memorial Day. Follow all of South Carolina’s 2024 recruiting targets HERE
