An important few days for Texas Longhorns sports

I’d caution anyone not to read too much into yesterday’s basketball loss. The Texas Longhorns lost on the road to a top five team.

However, the Horns need to bounce back this week. The Horns host Baylor tomorrow night and then travel to Kansas State next weekend followed almost immediately with a test against Kansas a week from tomorrow.

The second national signing day is this coming Wednesday.
The Horns await the decisions of two players: Red Oak safety Warren Roberson, who is on his official visit to Texas as I type this, and Duce Robinson, the Phoenix area native who is ranked the nation’s No. 1 tight end.
A flurry of predictions came in for Roberson to sign with Texas yesterday.
As for Robinson, I hear Texas remains involved. Most think it’s a Georgia-USC race, but Texas hasn’t backed down.

Three of the four quarterbacks who are playing in today’s NFL championship games are Big 12 products, all from different schools.
If you ever wonder why the Big 12 has been a tough conference the past 10 years, it’s the quarterbacks the league produces, especially if you don’t have one of comparable value, which is what Texas suffered for most of the 2010s prior to Sam Ehlinger.
