Per Texas Football’s Twitter, redshirt sophomore QB Arch Manning, junior LB Anthony Hill Jr. and redshirt senior safety Michael Taaffe will all be traveling to Atlanta, Georgia, to represent the Longhorns at SEC Media Days.

With Media Days beginning a week from today, Tuesday, July 15th, the three players and head coach Steve Sarkisian will be made available for the first time in the 2025-26 athletic calendar. In some respects, SEC Media Days marks the countdown to the start of the 2025 season, where Texas will take on Ohio State in Columbus to kick off the year.

These selections come as no surprise to Texas fans. Taaffe and Hill are the leaders of arguably the best-returning defense in the nation, and both bring more experience than any other players on that side of the ball.

Taaffe, a former walk-on, is one of the longest-tenured Longhorns, having made contributions on special teams since the beginning of the 2022 season. The safety earned All-American honors last season and is one of seven returning starters on the defensive side of the ball.

Hill is entering his third year starting for the Longhorns, his second as the Mike linebacker in the Pete Kwiatkowski defense. Hill captained the front seven all of last year and will now step into the role left by Jahdae Barron as the passionate leader of the Longhorns.

Manning needs no introduction and is sure to draw more attention than any individual player at this year’s event. Even as a player entering his first season starting, Manning has asserted himself as a leader in the locker room and was a must-have to represent the offensive side of the ball.

Sarkisian will first speak to the media on July 15th before more availability will be opened up for the players.
