Arch Manning cleared to play against Vanderbilt

Manning suffered a concussion in overtime against Mississippi State last week and is battling to return to the field. He had to clear the SEC’s concussion protocol, and as a result of his no longer being on the report, he seems to have done just that.
Texas safety Michael Taaffe recently underwent thumb surgery and is attempting to return after missing last week’s game against the Bulldogs. With that being said, Taaffe has moved from questionable to doubtful for Saturday’s game
On Thursday, in his weekly Zoom meeting, Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian said both Manning and safety Taaffe practiced on Thursday. They had also practiced on Wednesday, which he mentioned in his weekly SEC Coaches teleconference.
Texas defensive lineman Lance Jackson and center Cole Hutson were previously mentioned as probable. Now, the two will be good to go for Saturday.
Jackson played last week against Mississippi State, while Hutson had missed Texas’ previous two games.
For Vanderbilt, defensive lineman Yilanan Ouattara, quarterback Drew Dickey, running back Chase Gillespie, defensive back Vanzale Hinton, and defensive lineman Nikhil Jefferson were all listed as OUT.
