CJ Baxter, Xavier Filsaime, and Jonathan Cunningham Set to Play at Mississippi State after Friday's SEC Injury Report

Texas’ CJ Baxter, Xavier Filsaime, and Jonathan Cunningham are set to play on Saturday for the Mississippi State game in Starkville, after Friday’s SEC Availability Report was released.

Inside Texas’ Eric Nahlin provided more information on Baxter on Tuesday.

Defensive backs Xavier Filsaime and Jonathan Cunningham were still listed as PROBABLE.

Defensive back Michael Taaffe, wide receiver Aaron Butler, and center Cole Hutson were all still listed as OUT.

Taaffe is due to miss time as a result of thumb surgery on Monday, Inside Texas reported.

For Mississippi State, defensive lineman Will Whitson, offensive lineman Brennan Smith, and offensive lineman Blake Steen were listed as OUT.

Linebacker Zakari Tillman is OUT- 1st Half after he was penalized for targeting in the first half of the Bulldogs’ game versus Florida.

Running back Fluff Bothwell, who leads Mississippi State in rushing this year with 465 yards, is still listed as QUESTIONABLE.

New name to the report this week CB Jett Jefferson is DOUBTFUL.

Reporting Requirements

SEC school personnel must submit availability reports three days before each football game, with daily updates leading to a final report 90 minutes prior to game time. For basketball and baseball, reports are filed the night before the game, with an update on game day.

Player Status Designations

Players are designated as “available,” “probable,” “questionable,” “doubtful,” or “out” before game day; and as “available,” “game time decision,” or “out” on game day.

Consequences for Non-Compliance

Penalties for inaccurate or late reports range from $25,000 – $100,000 for football and up to $15,000 – $25,000 for basketball and baseball.
