Simmons, a sophomore out of Duncanville (Texas), was the Shaun Alexander True Freshman of the Year in 2024. He lead the Longhorns with 9.0 sacks and tallied 14.0 TFL. Simmons notched 48 tackles, an interception, and two PBU while appearing in all 16 games. He was also added to the Southeastern Conference’s All-Freshman team.
Hill, a junior from Denton (Texas) Ryan, started all 16 games for the Longhorns last year and earned selections to multiple second-team All-America teams including the AFCA, the AP, The Sporting News, and the WCFF. Hill notched 103 tackles, 16.5 TFL, and four forced fumbles. Hill earned second-team All-SEC honors in 2024.
Taaffe, a senior from Austin (Texas) Westlake, was an AP second-team All-American in 2024. Part of the No. 3 total defense and the No. 7 passing defense, Taaffe started all 16 games and was second on the team in tackles with 78, interceptions with two, and PBUs with 10.
The Walter Camp Football Foundation – a New Haven-based all-volunteer group – was founded in 1967 to perpetuate the ideals of Camp and to continue the tradition of selecting annually an All-America team. Typically announced in early December, the Walter Camp All-America teams are selected by the FBS head coaches and sports information directors.
