2026 Jackson (Ala.) running back Ezavier Crowell was enamored with Texas when Tashard Choice was the running backs coach in Austin, but Dan Campbell called Choice to bring him on his Detroit Lions staff. The recruitment seemingly fizzled out then, but Scott worked diligently to keep the Longhorns in the race and was successful. Crowell took two unofficials to Texas before seeing Austin officially in early June.

The quote to know: “The overall visit was the feeling for me on campus was amazing. This marks my third time on campus and my biggest highlights were how they welcomed my family there and treated us like we were one of their own. I also loved how I sat and had meetings with the coaches and they broke down how I can be a weapon in the offense. I spent time with coach Scott, and he said, ‘Come be a Longhorn, let’s bring a Doak Walker here’. Texas is high on my list.”
