Former Longhorn Moro Ojomo's heads-up play helps Philadelphia to a Monday Night Football win

During yesterday’s game between the Green Bay Packers and the Philadelphia Eagles, former Longhorn Moro Ojomo made the Packers’ offensive plans known to all of his Philly teammates before a crucial fourth down late in the contest.

Ojomo correctly identifies the inside zone play and knifes between the combo block from the center and guard. That forces Josh Jacobs to have to improvise considering Ojomo was right where he wanted to run. Ojomo’s Eagles teammates swarm to the football and Reed Blankenship forces the ball out and hops on the fumble.
The stop was pivotal as it stopped one Green Bay’s two fruitless late drives. Ojomo didn’t receive any statistical credit on the play. In fact, he only notched two quarterback hits in the stat sheet last night. But his ability to identify what Green Bay was doing and where Jacobs wanted to go with the ball helped the Eagles to their seventh win of the season.
Fellow Longhorn Andrew Mukuba notched two tackles for the Eagles. For the Packers, Barryn Sorrell had two tackles to his name.

Ojomo, who was part of the Eagles’ Super Bowl LIX winning team, was drafted in the seventh round of the 2023 draft. After playing a limited role in his rookie season, he became a regular rotation player for the Eagles during the 2024 campaign and played his best ball in the 2024 playoffs. He posted a handful of tackles and a Pro Football Focus defensive grade of 89.5 in Philadelphia’s Super Bowl victory over Kansas City.
On a team that features elite defensive linemen like Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis, Ojomo has entrenched himself as a defensive regular for the NFC East leaders. He’s made plays like the one above that showcase his physical ability and also his football maturity. That latter aspect has been seen since his time in burnt orange.
For the 2025 season, Ojomo has nine solo tackles and four sacks. He won’t get statistical credit for the play above, but it was one that helped the Eagles to a hard-fought victory.
