The Texas Longhorns basketball team will play another game in the soft portion of their pre-conference slate, taking on 1-2 Kansas City out of the Summit League. The game will stream on SEC Network+ and will tip at noon.

The Roos are ranked 335th in KenPom out of 365 teams total, which amounts to another blowout victory in Texas’ favor in all likelihood. They’ve given up over 100 points versus both D-I teams they’ve played this season, meaning the ‘Horns should have no difficulty finding the bottom of the net, especially considering the way the offense has been firing post-Duke.

Kansas City’s leading scorer is guard Jayson Petty, averaging 16.7 points per game on 47% from the field, as well as 40% from three. The offense hasn’t been the problem for KC – it’s been their clear strength, as they’re averaging 83 points per game, but they have had major troubles on the opposite end of the floor.

The Roos run mostly guards, which is a contributor to the aforementioned problem. Their top four players by minutes played are ball handlers, with only one forward averaging over 14 minutes per game (Jerome Palm, 24 minutes per). KC lacks size, so Texas will be able to attack them from that angle, given they have several ball handlers over 6-foot-4.

Here are some more tidbits about the matchup.
