The Highlights:
The Recruitment: Coming from a school in Fort Bend Marshall where players typically commit to Texas A&M, Chester seemed destined to join the Aggies after visiting College Station multiple times. In the end, he chose Texas, where he saw greater opportunities for development.
The Projection: Chester is a long, athletic, and quick-footed corner who can play both field and boundary positions. Standing at 6-foot-2, he matches up well against bigger receivers, giving Texas a versatile piece to deploy based on matchups. Chester doesn’t just rely on his length. His Hudl demonstrates blanket coverage, even on plays where the opposing quarterback has far too much time in the pocket. He’s consistently in phase with the receiver on outside releases and remains sticky when receivers make their breaks. In short, Chester doesn’t leave a lot of room to complete passes and a big part of that is his movement skills.

The Final Word: Chester brings speed and length to the Texas secondary and is expected to make his first impact on special teams. His size and athleticism provide options for the Longhorns to customize defensive strategies against opposing offenses.
