Mr LC, RT Young, and Ian Boyd all gathered to draft the best football and football-related movies. We posted a big board of some of the films up for consideration the other day and included the categories each of us would need to select from in order to fill out a “team” of football movies.
Each of us needed to choose a high school football film, college football film, pro sports film, and something “football-adjacent.” Ian Boyd won the honor of the first pick and off we went in a snake draft order.

However, first we had a quick but lively debate over whether “The Blind Side” should count as a high school or college football movie. LC pointed out the vast majority of the movie takes place while the football player in the movie, Michael Oher, is playing high school football. Ian countered the narrative thrust of the movie is all about Oher attending college and getting to the NFL with the recruitment of Oher by various college programs serving as the main drama of the movie.
RT Young sided with Ian in naming The Blind Side a college football movie. The film then ironically went unselected.
