Introducing Inside Texas' Newest Contributor: Wane McGarity
As a wide receiver at the University of Texas from 1995 to 1998, Wane McGarity finished with 1,687 receiving yards, 14 touchdowns and set three all-time school records: Most TD receptions is one game (four vs. Texas Tech, '98), longest reception (97-yard touchdown from Major Applewhite against OU in '98) and most 100-yard recieving games in one season (seven in '98). He was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the 4th round of the 1999 NFL Draft. Wane played with the Cowboys for 3 seasons, catching 33 passes and one touchdown over that time. His best season came in 2000 when he caught 25 passes for 250 yards and also returned 30 punts for 353 yards and two touchdowns. He signed with the New Orleans Saints in 2001 and played nine games that season with the Saints. Wane played in the NFL for four seasons, totaling 39 receptions for 363 yards and one score. Wane now lives in San Antonio and along with doing game breakdowns for Inside Texas co-hosts the "Longhorn Pipeline" on 1250 ESPN Radio in San Antonio, giving his insight into Texas Football.
